My crush already has a girlfriend!

Dear Advice Girl,

I think I’m in love with this boy named Andrew from my school. I wish I could get closer to him and get him to notice me.

I found out recently that he has a girlfriend. This really made me sad. And I also found out that my friend likes him too. What should I do?

Dear Nisha,

Gosh, do you really need me to spell it out for you? This situation has GET OVER HIM written all over it. Remember:

Do not go after a guy who has a girlfriend.
Do not go after a guy your friend likes, too (unless you really think he’s worth losing her over, and by the way, he’s not).

Don’t worry. It won’t be hard to get over him if you try. The closer you are with someone, the harder it is to move on – and since it sounds like you barely know this guy, it’ll be a snap.

hey nish, i think advicegirl's advice was a little harsh. you don't need to completley give up on him just yet. Ok so he has a girlfriend right now. Find out how long he and her have been committed, but don't ask around because that will make you look weird and stalker-ish. Make sure you talk to him but ease into the conversation slowly. And about your friend that likes him, i bet she's in the same predicament. Talk to her about liking him and if she gets all mad that you do, tell her that its nothing that you can do about it, he has a girlfriend! lol try and be really really amazing friends with him because when he breaks up with his gf you'll be the first one he's interested in. About your friend, she should understand. You cant help who you like nisha...

Don't go after someone else's boyfriend, unless you're okay with them doing the same thing if sometime in the future you're with someone. It doesn't do much good, ever.
